the first snow of the season with a little hot cocoa to warm up with

Today, we received the first snow of the season.

 The kids had a blast.

So, while they were out playing with daddy, making snowmen, and throwing snowballs, Andy and I were inside making hot cocoa.

Hot Cocoa
Makes 12 servings

1 cup sugar
Dash of salt
1/2 cup cocoa
 2/3 cup hot water
8 cups milk
3/4 tsp vanilla extract

Mix sugar, salt and cocoa in a large saucepan. Whisk in hot water.

Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil for 2 minutes stirring constantly.

Add in milk and heat but do not bring to a boil.

Remove from the heat. Add the vanilla and serve.

It tastes so creamy and yummy. But, if you want to splurge a little more, add just a little of your favorite flavored coffee creamer to your cocoa.

Leah loved it after playing outside in the snow.
